Come to the Kurt Vonnegut Museum and Library (KVML) as they kick off their Year of Civic Engagement with a launch party on Tuesday, January 28, from 5:30 to 7 pm at the KVML, 543 Indiana Avenue. They’re thrilled to host Lasana Kazembe, an assistant professor of Urban Teacher Education and Africana Studies at IUPUI. He’ll talk about building awareness of implicit racial bias and implementing anti-oppressive practices rooted in equity, justice, and social transformation. There will be time for you to come up with your own personal civic engagement goal for 2020, too. Tickets on Eventbrite.
